At this year's edition of the Diagonale, the festival of Austrian film, VdFS was once again a guest in Graz as a partner and sponsor.

The Grand Diagonale Acting Prize 2024 was awarded to Lukas Miko, who, as the jury aptly noted, has become an essential part of Austrian film screens.

We are particularly pleased to be able to endow this prize for services to Austrian film culture once again. We warmly congratulate Lukas Miko on this award!

We would of course also like to congratulate all the other Diagonale 2024 award winners. VdFS is delighted to sponsor the Diagonale Acting Awards as well as the Diagonale Awards for Image Design, Film Editing, Production Design, Costume Design and Sound Design. In this way, Austrian filmmaking is honored and awarded. You can find an overview of all the winners here.

We congratulate very warmly!

Every year, we invite students from various universities in Austria to travel to the Diagonale, to get to know the industry, to network, to attend events and to take part in numerous projections. Together with the entire VdFS team, 18 students specializing in film and 6 BMKOES starting scholarship holders were guests in Graz this year.

2024 was the first Diagonale festival year for the two new directors Claudia Slanar and Dominik Kamalzadeh! We congratulate them on the successful start and look forward to a great partnership and collaboration in the years to come!
